Oscar Aceves Álvarez

En el marco del curso Teoría del Diseño Arquitectónico 2 USACH, dirigido por los docentes Hugo Pérez, Sebastián Laclabére y Ángela Carvajal, se invita a la comunidad a compartir con el arquitecto Oscar Aceves en su ponencia “Lo público, lo social y lo austero” que tiene como principal objetivo hacer una revisión de la producción arquitectónica en Latinoamérica a partir de tres de los discursos más recurrentes o relevantes dentro de la discusión disciplinar regional reciente: ¿Cuáles son los intereses de la arquitectura contemporánea en Latinoamérica? ¿Qué relación tienen con las coyunturas de inicios del siglo XXI? (cambio climático, igualdad de género, cibernética, etc.) ¿Cómo representan las obras dichos intereses? y ¿Qué otros intereses se omiten o se anulan? Con la intención de poner en crisis la creación y difusión de discursos de arquitectura en la región, se revisarán una serie de obras de arquitectura contemporáneas y representativas bajo el enfoque de la condición pública, del potencial de transformación social y del manejo eficiente de recursos en distintos países de Latinoamérica.

In the Theory of Architectural Design 2 USACH course, directed by teachers Hugo Pérez, Sebastián Laclabére and Ángela Carvajal, the community is invited to share with the architect Oscar Aceves in his presentation «The public, the social and the austere», whose main objective is to review architectural production in Latin America based on three of the most recurrent or relevant discourses within the recent regional disciplinary discussion: What are the interests of contemporary architecture in Latin America? What relationship do they have with the situations of the beginning of the 21st century (climate change, gender equality, cyber, etc.)? How do the works represent these interests? And what other interests are omitted or annulled? With the intention of putting the creation and dissemination of architectural discourses in the region in crisis, a series of contemporary and representative works of architecture will be reviewed under the approach of the public condition, the potential for social transformation and the efficient management of resources in different Latin American countries.
