Cultura Arquitectónica I y II son cursos instrumentales disciplinares de carácter conceptual dictados en el primer año de la carrera que presentan una perspectiva integrada de los aspectos culturales, artísticos y sociales que condicionaron la producción arquitectónica de la Edad Antigua (I), Edad Media (I) y Edad Moderna (II). Tomando esto como base, la propuesta docente parte de la hipótesis de que para hacer un revisionismo histórico no solo se requiere analizar las particularidades formales, espaciales o tectónicas de las obras sino se debe prestar igual – e incluso mayor- atención a los discursos que los propios arquitectos han propuesto a partir de estas edificaciones a lo largo del tiempo, ya que estos discursos podrían haber tenido más impacto en la disciplina que las obras mismas.
Architectural Culture I and II are instrumental disciplinary courses of a conceptual nature taught in the first year of the degree that present an integrated perspective of the cultural, artistic and social aspects that conditioned the architectural production of the Ancient Age (I), Middle Ages (I ) and Modern Age (II). Taking this as a basis, the teaching proposal is based on the hypothesis that to carry out historical revisionism it is not only necessary to analyze the formal, spatial or tectonic particularities of the works but also that equal – and even greater – attention must be paid to the discourses that Architects themselves have proposed these buildings over time, since these discourses could have had more impact on the discipline than the works themselves.
